What are you going to do?

You bring your own wooden chair to the course. You and the teacher discuss in advance whether your project is feasible. View the photos for examples of suitable chairs.

Course content:

• Removing old upholstery and filling materials: Learn how to safely and effectively remove old fabric and stuffing from your chair.
• Calculating the required material: Discover how to make a fabric plan and calculate exactly how much fabric you need.
• Polyether choice and use: Learn which type and how much polyether you need for a comfortable and durable upholstery.
• Light restoration work and reinforcement: Carry out minor restoration work and strengthen the wooden frame of your furniture.
• Making a mold for the seat: Make an accurate mold for the seat to ensure a perfect fit.
• Construction of seat and backrest: Rebuild the seat and backrest and learn how to process polyether for a professional finish.
• Finishing options: Discover various finishing options to give your furniture a unique look.
• Working with a bent needle: Master the use of the curved needle for tricky corners and finishes.
